The Hotel Vermont.

You knew that I couldn't top the police station...right?

It finally happened.  I should have listened to all the naysayers that told me that either a crackhead would get me or I'd end up behind bars...

Monday was a very special day for me as I got to see my favorite baseball team for the first time. Roachy accompanied me and didn't complain at all after it rained for 5 innings.

I wasn't very happy about the end result though.

If you're looking for the hockey pool, then click the image directly above this or scroll down.  While this is the host for the hockey pool, it is also a website that I update occasionally.

Anyway.

I finished school on Saturday. While everyone else was finished by the last exam date (Thursday), I had a project where the teacher allowed us until Saturday. I finished the project and now it feels strange to not have any responsibilities aside from showing up at Ford's occasionally (and updating the hockey pool).

I figured some shout outs were in order.

(This is a top 5 because it's not humorous - I'll get back to drunkenness & Detroit after this post).

1. Bracken - he passed me in Grade 11 algebra when I got a 46.  Kolowicz gave me all the old tests; so I got a 90 on some, then 30 on some when I didn't feel like doing any work.  I didn't play hockey and wasn't particularly friendly with Bracken; but he passed me out of the goodness of his heart. Without that, it would have seriously deterred me & I doubt I'd be where I am today.

2. PK - I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life.  I just took the classes that Kolowicz took in high school and followed his lead.  Hell, he helped me register the first year because I couldn't figure out the SIS.

3. Janice - She had quite the work ethic and got me to actually work in second year.

4. Kayla - Having a girlfriend for two years of university definitely affects your habits.  A supportive one positively affects those habits, as she always gave me coffee, encouragement or let me hit triples when I needed to stay up late after leaving things to the last minute.

5. James Carl Cooper - Cooper has always expected me to do well with my life.  I don't know why he's like that, but it is motivating to know someone expects something out of you.

Enough of the shout outs.

Just how did I celebrate being done school?

Detroit Skyline

I'm sure you could have guessed that one.

[ * mathematically eliminated ]

Also; I got more people that I expected (25 instead of 21); so the extra $40 will be dispersed amongst the prize positions in a percentile manner.

1st place = $150 (out of $210) = 71.4% of winnings.
$150 + $40(.714) = $179

Using the same formula:
2nd place - $48
3rd place - $12
25th place - $12

I hope that no one has a problem with this decision.

I wasn't even going to do my hockey pool this year; but Roachy wouldn't let the tradition die.  Anyway, so here are the brackets in a word file; please join because the playoffs start in 7 hours & I need people.

NHL Playoff Pool.doc

Simply download the file and pick 1 player per bracket (for a total of 11 people).  It costs only $10, and with 21 people; that means $150 for 1st, $40 for 2nd and $10 for 3rd and 21st place.

Even if I don't know you that well; feel free to join. The more the merrier & I would really appreciate it.

I'll be around all day if you have any problems or concerns; feel free to e-mail (JurajKolnikIsElite@Gmail.com, Navigator_Rw@hotmail.com), phone or stop by.

Update: It's going to be a minute before I get this updated; so to dispute any cheating allegations...here are my picks (Selanne, Elias, Langenbrunner, Getzlaf, Gionta, Kotalik, Conroy, Numminen, Beauchemin, Marchant, Bell)  Go Ducks!

Update2: Oh wow.  So I go to watch part of the Ducks and fall asleep.  My computer closes down and deletes the excel file.  What a way to start - completely unprofessional.  I'll get it done ASAP tomorrow.

Merry Good Friday to everyone.  I hope everyone attended church; because I know I did...

Abandoned Church, USHA, USHC, Detroit, Mi

...even if no one else showed.

Also if you want to pick up a shirt for that special someone on Sunday; then you should head on over to Scott's New T-Shirt Website - Groovy T's.  I personally get no money from the site; but Scott asked if I could put up a link so that he can get a piece of my 56 person a day average.
