February 5th, 2006 - Super Bowl Sunday Bash at Scott Woodall's in La Salle

For the last 2 years I've went over to Scott's house in La Salle for some Super Bowl festivities.  So I was excited for another year of sarcasm and shitty beer.

Honorable mentions go out to Andy Ion.  He had a Super Bowl party as well, but I can only be at one place at one time.

Lastly, some of these pictures were taken by Scott; so credit to him for the guest journalistic photog input.

Meatballs on the slow cooker. MMMM!

The highlight (away from Monaghan ripping into this guy Mongo) is the game Scott has every year of shitty beer.  Each year Scott buys plenty of the worst looking beer he can find and the persons furthest away from the score at halftime have to drink one.

Roach got 4th furthest away, picked Petrus (far left) and the bottle was so small that after all the sampling, he barely had any.

Navi (myself) got 3rd furthest away and I picked Old Speckled Hen (middle) in an attempt to screw Monaghan.  Boy was it bad, but I was just happy I didn't get the Eagle (that large 40).

Monaghan was next and had a decision to make...Hobgoblin (imagine leaving an O.V. in your trunk for about, say 17 years), London Porter (it looked like Guiness & it's slogan was dark & smooth - Monaghan hates dark beer) & the Eagle - a 40 that I'd been hyping up as the worst 40 I've ever had and also with tales of dirty liquor racks & liquor stores off Woodward.

Monaghan decided on the Hobgoblin and wasn't impressed at all.

Look how happy Carrico is to see that Monaghan has to drink English Piss Beer. (Hobgoblin)

Monaghan & I celebrated our Old Speckled Hen & Hobgoblin with Bill Cowher.

Adrian was left to pick between London Porter & the Eagle.  I don't think it was that tough of a decision...

Adrian enjoying his London Porter...a great pick for one who likes Guinness.

That left one bottle...THE EAGLE!

Clarkson picked the worst score (for the final) and had to drink the Eagle.

After some opening troubles.

...and some Monaghan trying...

And what do you know, after all the hype, all the hoopla...the Eagle tasted like Coors Light.  Of course both 40's I've ever had of the stuff - once while drunk off another 40 tasted like black licorice & aluminum.  But the one I buy for the party is somehow good...

...next year it'll be Evil Eye.
